Humanity Project Tier 1 Foundation specification for the ten canonical trades.
Joshua Alexander Milks. CONFIDENTIAL.
T1\_Trades\_Master is the Tier 1 Foundation canonical specification for the ten canonical trades in Humanity. Owns per-trade home base assignments, the twelve-tier mastery quest gate framework operationalizing CVD §12.1, the per-trade quest gate roster of 120 canonical gates, the four trade compound architecture, the non-compound trade infrastructure, the Book of Trades mechanic, trade interdependence and cross-trade combinations, trade master worldview-teaching at Inner Order tiers, cultural depiction discipline at high-care trade home bases, and trade arc gate alignment with chapter-level Boss anchors.
This doc does not own Pillar 9 substrate concepts. CVD §14.3 owns Pillar 9 substrate concept canon and operates by reference throughout this doc. This doc does not own per-trade detailed questline content, which lives in Tier 5 Trade\_Detailed docs and authors at Phase 4 Quest Writing. This doc does not own per-weapon legendary questline content tied to Trade 3 Blacksmithing or Trade 9 Inscription, which lives in Tier 6 Weapons\_Legendary scope.
Drive placement: /Humanity/01-Foundation/T1\_Trades\_Master.
Authority scope binding. CVD wins on every conflict against pre-restructure source content per Project 1 v4.1-Restructure custom instructions. T1\_Trades\_Master operationalizes CVD §14 Trades as Consciousness-Technology canonical framing. Pre-restructure GDD\_Systems §2 Trade Skills System Architecture content absorbs into this doc through Phase 5I authoring. Pre-restructure source archives at Phase 5M close.
Update cadence. T1\_Trades\_Master locks at Phase 5I close. Refinement happens via Phase 6 spine cascade feedback for modern home base specific chapter pinning where deferred at v1.0 lock. Quest gate roster expands at Phase 4 Quest Writing detailed authoring; Tier 5 Trade\_Detailed docs hold the per-gate content.
Estimated stable size: 12 to 18 pages.
CVD §14 Trades as Consciousness-Technology binds Pillar 9 substrate concept canon. CVD §14.3 owns the ten canonical trade substrate concept reframings inline; T1\_Trades\_Master cites by reference and does not duplicate.
CVD §12.1 binds the twelve-tier Hermetic mastery framework universal across every developable capability. CVD §17.5 binds every tier requires quest-unlock, not just numerical threshold hit; this is the canonical authority for the 120-gate roster.
CVD §17.6 binds trade-and-side-questline hard lines covering ten canonical trade names locked, twelve canonical SQ names locked, each trade with one ancient home base and one modern home base except where canonical authority declares otherwise (Trade 7 Culinary single-home and Trade 9 Inscription ancient-only), trade master teaches worldview alongside skill, Pillar 9 substrate concepts surface through mastery progression rather than narrator declaration, T1\_Trades\_Master canonical authority for per-trade home-base assignments.
CVD §6 binds the cultural depiction standard — respect cultures depicted, use publicly available documented information for accurate artistic depiction, protect communities from combat and kill mechanics, depict documented rituals respectfully from sourced material. CVD §17.1 binds high-care chapter cultural depiction at Ch 29 Sámi, Ch 42 Haiti, and Ch 57 Australia, of which Ch 42 Haiti is Trade 7 home and Ch 29 Sámi is one of two Trade 9 ancient homes.
T1\_Languages\_and\_Script\_Master v2.0 binds Trade 9 Inscription Reading A locked Phase 5D — Inscription is the only trade with two ancient home bases (Ch 15 Egypt \+ Ch 29 Sámi) and no modern home base.
T1\_Combat\_System\_Spec v1.0 §7 binds chapter-level Boss anchors at Ch 8, Ch 23, Ch 38, Ch 55, Ch 65 per Pillar 8 blended-mode requirement. Trade arc gate alignment binds at Ch 23 Greece for Trade 8 Engineering arc per Decision 3A locked Phase 5I.
T1\_Vril\_and\_Magic\_System\_Master v2.0 binds Vril Sight twelve-tier mapping with substrate-perception threshold at Adeptus Minor numerical 100\. Trade master worldview-teaching reaches substrate-perception availability at this tier; per-trade substrate-perception unlocks operationalize through this doc's quest gate framework.
T1\_Integrity\_Paths\_Worldstates\_Master v2.1 binds five-band integrity model Truly Good / Good Enough / Drifting / Evil / Pure Evil terminal. Trade master alignment spectrum binds against integrity at Inner Order tiers per CVD §17.4.
T1\_Build\_Pipeline\_Contracts ACTIVE v1.0 §6 Quest Writing binds Trade questline pipeline consumer interface. Standard quest track operates per §6.4. Trade 7 Culinary Ch 42 Haiti home base carries cultural authenticity discipline per §6.8.
T0\_Trade\_Registry sheet 1WZjjs2am5ENznbZPMElE\_fVlluMJKNBqGIpqDr1zfhk holds eight-column structured-data row catalog for the ten trades, populated at Phase 5I close.
T0\_Quest\_Definition\_Registry creates at Phase 5M T0\_Schema\_Dictionary work and holds per-quest-gate canonical row data once schemas lock. T1\_Trades\_Master twelve\_tier\_quest\_gates column carries quest\_id placeholder format until T0\_Quest\_Definition\_Registry populates.
The ten canonical trade names per CVD §14.2 lock as the player-facing vocabulary across all surfaces (crafting menus, NPC dialogue, quest descriptions, UI elements). Pillar 9 substrate concept reframings operate at the substrate layer per CVD §14.1, not at the surface vocabulary.
Trade home base canonical assignment binds per the five-locked principle. Each trade carries one ancient home base and one modern home base except where canonical authority declares otherwise. Two exceptions hold: Trade 7 Culinary Arts at Ch 42 Haiti single-home per geography canonical lock (ancient-and-modern continuity in single chapter), and Trade 9 Inscription ancient-only with two ancient home bases (Ch 15 Egypt and Ch 29 Sámi) and no modern home base per Reading A locked Phase 5D.
Per-trade home base assignments at v1.0 lock follow. Where modern home pins to a specific Ch 39-58 modern-world chapter or Ch 56 Arctic, the chapter number is canonical at v1.0. Where modern home pins to the Ch 59-65 continental revisit range without per-chapter ordering canonical at this lock, the assignment carries a Phase 6 specific chapter pinning gate against canonical chapter content authoring during spine cascade.
Ancient home base Ch 12 W Africa. Modern home base Ch 59-65 continental revisit Africa, specific chapter at Phase 6 spine cascade pinning. Pillar 9 substrate concept per CVD §14.3 — Animal Communication as cross-species consciousness coordination.
Ancient home base Ch 19 Persia with Ch 14 Nubia tier-seed. Modern home base Ch 59-65 continental revisit Africa, specific chapter at Phase 6 spine cascade pinning [CONTINENT AMENDED 2026-07-27 at the Phase 6 trade-pin batch, director-adjudicated and Josh-vetoable. The v1.0 lock read Mid East, and the Ch 59-65 continental revisit arc carries no Mid-East node — Ch 59 Africa, Ch 60 Japan, Ch 61 Europe, Ch 62 Americas, Ch 63 Pacific, Ch 64 Underwater Sites, Ch 65 Antarctica — the near-East surviving in the arc only as Ch 61's bounded reflection scene. The content grounding is this trade's own Ch 14 Nubia tier-seed revisited at Ch 59, whose canonical chapter text credits the Kingdom of Kush iron-working at Meroë; the ancient Meroë seed and the modern Meroë revisit close on the same culture. The specific chapter pins at Ch 59 per §3.11]. Pillar 9 substrate concept per CVD §14.3 — Mining as material consciousness.
Ancient home base Ch 07 S India. Modern home base Ch 59-65 continental revisit Asia, specific chapter at Phase 6 spine cascade pinning. Pillar 9 substrate concept per CVD §14.3 — Blacksmithing as material-transformation consciousness.
Ancient home base Ch 07 S India. Modern home base Ch 50 Amazon, locked at v1.0. Pillar 9 substrate concept per CVD §14.3 — Herbalism as medicine-philosophy. Herbalism operationalizes real biology as its player-facing knowledge substrate — knowing what plants and preparations actually do rewards real learning; vril amplifies the biological effect rather than replacing it.
Ancient home base Ch 19 Persia. Modern home base Ch 59-65 continental revisit Europe, specific chapter at Phase 6 spine cascade pinning, Renaissance-Hermetic-lineage anchor. Pillar 9 substrate concept per CVD §14.3 — Alchemy as substrate-transmutation philosophy. Alchemy operationalizes real chemistry as its player-facing knowledge substrate — knowing what compounds and reactions actually combine rewards real learning; vril amplifies the chemical reaction rather than replacing it.
Ancient home base Ch 21 China. Modern home base Ch 59-65 continental revisit Asia, specific chapter at Phase 6 spine cascade pinning. Pillar 9 substrate concept per CVD §14.3 — Tailoring as pattern-memory and identity-encoding.
Single-home Ch 42 Haiti per geography canonical lock. Ancient-and-modern continuity in single chapter; New Orleans Haiti Creole pathway operates as cultural-historical thread through Ch 42 rather than as a shared home base assignment. Ch 43 Sea Islands Gullah Geechee carries no Trade 7 home base assignment. Pillar 9 substrate concept per CVD §14.3 — Culinary Arts as nourishment consciousness.
Ancient home base Ch 27 C Europe. Modern home base Ch 59-65 continental revisit Europe, specific chapter at Phase 6 spine cascade pinning. Pillar 9 substrate concept per CVD §14.3 — Engineering as form-and-mechanism consciousness. Engineering operationalizes real physics and statics as its player-facing knowledge substrate — knowing what structures and mechanisms actually hold and move rewards real learning; vril amplifies the mechanism rather than replacing it. Antikythera-lineage Hellenistic engineering substrate anchor at Ch 23 Greece feeds Trade 8 arc gate alignment per §12 chapter-Boss anchor binding.
Ancient-only with two ancient home bases per Reading A locked Phase 5D. First ancient home Ch 15 Egypt — Pharaonic hieroglyphic substrate, the tomb artifact ancient anchor. Second ancient home Ch 29 Sámi — noaidi drum and runic substrate. No modern home base. Pillar 9 substrate concept per CVD §14.3 — Inscription as consciousness-as-written-record. Ch 69 the Duat 42 Negative Confessions canonical recitation event surfaces the substrate concept at Magister Templi tier per CVD §14.5.
Ancient home base Ch 08 Swahili Coast. Modern home base Ch 56 Arctic (Greenland — Norse-through-Inuit wayfinding), locked at v1.0 per GDD\_Core §8.4 explicit Trade 10 modern extension; the v1.0 "Pacific Northwest" region label is retired as stale against Chapter\_Index v1.2 (Ch 56 \= Arctic). Pillar 9 substrate concept per CVD §14.3 — Fishing and Navigation as wayfinding through ocean consciousness.
Trades 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8 modern home base specific chapter pinning gates at Phase 6 spine cascade. The Ch 59-65 continental revisit per-chapter ordering binds against canonical chapter content authoring during cascade. T0\_Trade\_Registry modern\_home\_chapter column carried placeholder value Ch\_59\_65\_TBD\_phase\_6 for these six trades at Phase 5I lock. Trades 4, 7, 9, 10 carry locked modern home base chapter values at v1.0.
The gate CLOSES at the 2026-07-27 Phase 6 trade-pin batch. All six deferred trades now carry a specific modern home base chapter pinned against canonical chapter content already authored in the spine. Trade 3 Blacksmithing pinned earlier in cascade at Ch 60 Japan against the tatara and tamahagane steel tradition. The remaining five pin as follows:
Two revisit chapters each take two modern homes — Ch 59 carries Trade 1 and Trade 2, Ch 61 carries Trade 5 and Trade 8. The one-ancient-and-one-modern discipline at §3 binds trades, not chapters, so multiple trades sharing a revisit chapter holds. T0\_Trade\_Registry modern\_home\_chapter and modern\_home\_region carry the mirror rows for all ten trades, and T0\_Chapter\_Index trade\_content\_chapters carries the reciprocal cells at CH 59, CH 60, and CH 61. The five pins are director-adjudicated at the Phase 6 batch and Josh-vetoable.
CVD §12.1 binds the twelve-tier Hermetic mastery framework universal across combat, trades, abilities, weapon mastery, familiar bond, language, and inscription. CVD §17.5 binds every tier requires quest-unlock, not just numerical threshold hit. The combination produces the canonical 120-gate roster — ten trades multiplied by twelve level gates per trade.
The twelve level gates per trade carry the ten named grades as bands over them - grades map 1:1 onto levels 1 through 6, Adeptus Major bands levels 7 and 8, Adeptus Exemptus bands levels 9 and 10, Magister Templi is level 11 and Magus is level 12 - with the Portal and the Abyss riding as ceremonies inside their crossings rather than holding index slots of their own. The framework binds as follows:
The Outer Order spans numerical levels 1 through 99 across five named tiers. Each tier transition requires a canonical quest-unlock per CVD §17.5. The five Outer Order gates per trade:
The Portal Grade ceremony rides inside the Level 5 Philosophus gate as that gate's own wisdom-test, not an index slot of its own. It is the last beat of Outer Order completion before Inner Order initiation. The Portal Grade gate is canonical at the trade level per the locked Phase 5D Reading A reference at T1\_Languages\_and\_Script\_Master Ch 14 Philosophus Portal Grade. The Portal Grade gate is a quest-unlock requiring Philosophus completion (numerical 99\) plus a canonical Portal Grade quest specific to the trade. Trades that gate the Inner Order initiation at this pivot bind the player to a sustained worldview commitment before substrate perception unlocks. Players who complete Philosophus may remain at numerical 99 indefinitely without taking the Portal Grade quest; the Portal Grade gate is voluntary and reversible at Outer Order scope.
The Inner Order spans numerical levels 100 through 199 across three named grades banding five levels - Adeptus Minor level 6, Adeptus Major levels 7 and 8, Adeptus Exemptus levels 9 and 10, per the ratified band mapping (GRADE\_BAND\_MAPPING\_2026-07-28, Josh YES). Substrate-perception unlocks at Adeptus Minor per T1\_Vril\_and\_Magic\_System\_Master Vril Sight tier 6 binding. The five Inner Order level gates per trade:
The Crossing of the Abyss ceremony rides inside the Level 10 to Level 11 crossing, not an index slot of its own. It is the pivot between Inner Order completion and Third Order ascent. The Babe of the Abyss gate is the canonical Inner-to-Third pivot per Hermetic tradition lineage. Quest-unlock requires Adeptus Exemptus completion (numerical 199\) plus a canonical Babe of the Abyss quest specific to the trade. The pivot binds the player to a final letting-go of Inner Order identity before Third Order ascent unlocks Magister Templi tier. Players who complete Adeptus Exemptus may remain at numerical 199 indefinitely without taking the Babe of the Abyss quest.
The Third Order spans numerical levels 200 and above across two named tiers. Magus tier is exclusive to Tier C MMO endgame per CVD §17.5. The two Third Order gates per trade:
Per Decision 4A locked Phase 5I, twelve\_tier\_quest\_gates column at T0\_Trade\_Registry carries semicolon-delimited array with sub-format level_N_<grade_abbr>:<quest_id>. Quest\_id placeholders bind format Q\_TR{trade\_num}\_{tier\_abbr} until T0\_Quest\_Definition\_Registry populates at Phase 5M. Grade abbreviations across the twelve levels: NEO Neophyte level 1, ZEL Zelator level 2, THE Theoricus level 3, PRA Practicus level 4, PHI Philosophus level 5, AMN Adeptus Minor level 6, AMJ Adeptus Major mid level 7, AMS Adeptus Major senior level 8, AEX Adeptus Exemptus early level 9, AEF Adeptus Exemptus full level 10, MGT Magister Templi level 11, MGS Magus level 12. PRT Portal Grade and BAB Babe of the Abyss are ceremony ids rather than level slots and carry in the ceremony quest refs column, PRT anchored inside the level 5 Philosophus gate and BAB inside the level 10 to level 11 crossing.
Per-trade twelve-level gate sequence per §4 framework. Each trade carries 12 canonical quest gates. Gate content authoring binds at Tier 5 Trade\_Detailed docs per Phase 4 Quest Writing scope. T1\_Trades\_Master holds the structural roster only.

Eight of the ten trades pair into four compound facilities. Each compound houses two trades sharing infrastructure. Compounds operate at the trade home base level — players access compound facilities at the home base chapters where the compound's two paired trades concentrate. Per-region compound buildable infrastructure detail authors at Phase 6 region build cascade per pipeline-driven schema discipline.
Houses Trade 2 Mining and Trade 3 Blacksmithing. Shared infrastructure: raw materials feed directly into weapon crafting. Trade 2 Mining Pillar 9 substrate concept of material consciousness operationalizes through ore extraction; Trade 3 Blacksmithing Pillar 9 substrate concept of material-transformation consciousness operationalizes through metal-becoming-form-through-fire. The Forge compound surfaces both substrate concepts in shared production space.
Houses Trade 4 Herbalism and Trade 5 Alchemy. Shared infrastructure: plant materials feed potion and elemental preparation. Trade 4 Herbalism Pillar 9 substrate concept of medicine-philosophy operationalizes through botanical preparation; Trade 5 Alchemy Pillar 9 substrate concept of substrate-transmutation philosophy operationalizes through compound transmutation. The Apothecary compound surfaces both substrate concepts in shared preparation space.
Houses Trade 6 Tailoring and Trade 7 Culinary Arts. Shared infrastructure: textile and food preparation share social and market infrastructure. Trade 6 Tailoring Pillar 9 substrate concept of pattern-memory and identity-encoding operationalizes through textile pattern; Trade 7 Culinary Arts Pillar 9 substrate concept of nourishment consciousness operationalizes through ingredient transformation. The Atelier compound surfaces both substrate concepts in shared social-market space.
Houses Trade 8 Engineering and Trade 9 Inscription. Shared infrastructure: structural analysis and rune systems share documentation and tooling. Trade 8 Engineering Pillar 9 substrate concept of form-and-mechanism consciousness operationalizes through mechanism construction; Trade 9 Inscription Pillar 9 substrate concept of consciousness-as-written-record operationalizes through inscription practice. The Workshop compound surfaces both substrate concepts in shared documentation and tooling space.
Each compound is designed, tested, and made available for player use by the modern adult chapters per CVD biography parameter age stage progression. Towns supported during late adolescence chapters develop and produce compound infrastructure by the modern adult chapters. Compounds at locked-modern-home chapters (Ch 50 Amazon for The Apothecary Trade 4 portion, Ch 42 Haiti for The Atelier Trade 7 portion, Ch 56 Pacific Northwest for non-compound Trade 10\) operate at full infrastructure during their canonical chapter content. Compounds at Ch 59-65 continental revisit modern home chapters operate at full infrastructure during their canonical revisit chapter content per Phase 6 spine cascade authoring.
Two trades operate outside the compound architecture. Trade 1 Animal Communication and Trade 10 Fishing and Navigation operate through relational and field mechanics rather than fixed production compounds.
Trade 1 infrastructure consists of trade master NPCs at home base chapters, regional familiar populations integrated with the 22 named familiars and the broader tameable creature roster, and field mechanics for cross-species coordination. The Mbuti net-hunting protocol, the mahout tradition, and the Sobek-cult crocodile bond per CVD §14.3 establish the cross-species substrate that surfaces through trade master worldview-teaching at Inner Order tiers. Per-region trade master assignments and per-region familiar populations bind at Phase 6 region build cascade per pipeline-driven schema discipline.
Trade 10 infrastructure consists of trade master NPCs at home base chapters, navigable boats and ocean access, and field mechanics for ocean-substrate perception. The Polynesian, Phoenician, Norse, and Coastal-Bantu wayfinding traditions per CVD §14.3 establish the ocean-substrate that surfaces through trade master worldview-teaching at Inner Order tiers. Per-region boat construction, navigation route accessibility, and ocean-substrate site specification bind at Phase 6 region build cascade.
The Book of Trades is the in-game research document tracking the player's accumulating trade knowledge across all ten trades. The Book is filled through exploration, NPC interaction, discovery, agility course puzzle variant completion per the agility course system at T1\_Combat\_System\_Spec §8, and trade questline progression. The Book cannot be obtained through combat alone or purchased through standard merchant interaction.
Multiple mechanical pathways unlock Book of Trades entries:
Trade master alignment binds against the five-band integrity model per T1\_Integrity\_Paths\_Worldstates\_Master v2.1. Per-trade-master alignment authoring binds at Tier 5 Trade\_Detailed scope. The substrate-teacher framing per CVD §14.4 worldview-teaching is canonical at the trade level — every trade master teaches the worldview the trade encodes alongside the operational skill at every tier from Neophyte through Magus. Some trade masters also operate within the cross-trade Book of Trades aggregation arc as integrity tests at the Magister Templi gate scope. The aggregation arc is not a universal trade-master mechanic; per-trade-master alignment specifies at Tier 5 authoring per integrity band per CVD §17.4 integrity hard lines.
The cross-trade aggregation arc surfaces as canonical content at the Magister Templi tier across multiple trades. Players who complete Book of Trades collection across all ten trades reach a canonical aggregation node per the post-Ch 77 prestige questline per CVD §12.1 Tier 9 Magister Templi prestige scope. Per-trade contribution to the aggregation arc binds at Tier 5 Trade\_Detailed authoring. The aggregation arc is canonical Tier A Solo Base content per CVD §17.5 Tier A Magister Templi accessibility.
Trade-master canonical framing carries two structurally distinct registers. The institutional-individual register presents the trade master as a named master at a location within a lineage. The community-substrate register presents the trade master as a community, a place-as-master, and a lineage held as distributed substrate rather than embodied in a single named teacher. Both registers are canonical and legitimate; they are structurally distinct, not a hierarchy, and a trade master at any home base registers under one of the two as its dominant structure.
Trade 5 Alchemy at Ch 19 Persia registers institutional-individual — a named master, a fixed location, an identifiable lineage. Trade 1 Animal Communication at the Mbuti net-hunting protocol registers community-substrate — the community itself carries the trade, the place teaches, and the lineage lives as distributed substrate across the group rather than in a single master (Trade 1 home base is Ch 12 West Africa; the Mbuti net-hunting protocol is the community-substrate exemplar). These two exemplars anchor the schema; per-trade register assignment for the remaining trades binds at Tier 5 Trade\_Detailed authoring per each trade's canonical home-base structure.
The community-substrate register aligns with the body-and-relationship knowledge substrate that lives across a community rather than in texts and institutions. Trade masters registering community-substrate at their home base carry the distributed-substrate structure that is structurally protected from antagonist-network capture per the structural-antagonist-limit canon at T4\_House\_of\_Velheim\_Canonical §8.
The Range Review Grid 2 Trade Questline audit criterion verifies that each trade's trade-master canonical framing applies the schema register matching that trade's canonical home-base structure, confirming institutional-individual and community-substrate assignments per trade.
Trades are interdependent at the system level per pre-restructure GDD\_Systems §2.5 absorbed framework. Engineering requires materials from Mining. Alchemy requires Herbalism inputs. Blacksmithing requires Mining. Players who specialize must trade with NPCs and other player communities or master multiple trades themselves.
Cross-trade combinations unlock specific capabilities at canonical thresholds:
Consumable combat items are crafted by Engineering (Trade 8, bombs) and Alchemy (Trade 5, potions and poisons, fed by Herbalism Trade 4 botanical inputs via the Apothecary). Inscription (Trade 9) owns the worn enhancement layer and the spell-creation catalyst only and does not craft consumables. Runic weapon alterations (Trade 3 plus Trade 9) are a worn, permanent enhancement, never a consumed or farmed item. Spellcraft (worn runes plus learned spells) and consumables (crafted-and-used-up bombs, potions, and poisons) are two separate economies.
The player-driven economy rests on trade interdependence per CVD pre-restructure framework. Scarcity is real because materials are specific to geographic regions and require physical presence to obtain. Regional specialization across the 77 regions creates genuine trade dependencies between player communities at Tier C MMO scope per T1\_Tier\_C\_MMO\_Spec at Phase 5J. Tier A Solo Base players engage trade interdependence through NPC trader networks; Tier C MMO players engage through cross-player trade and guild economy infrastructure.
CVD §14.4 binds trade master worldview-teaching as canonical at every tier. The teaching shifts in scope across the twelve-tier framework:
Outer Order tiers (Neophyte through Philosophus, numerical 1 through 99\) provide operational skill with growing worldview-framework awareness. Surface-track players (Pillar 12 Layer 1\) experience the trade as standard ARPG mechanic. Depth-track players (Pillar 12 Layer 2\) encounter the worldview that practitioner traditions across cultures attach to the trade. Trade master dialogue at Outer Order surfaces worldview alongside operational instruction.
Inner Order tiers (Adeptus Minor through Adeptus Exemptus, numerical 100 through 199\) introduce substrate perception per CVD §14.5. The trade master's worldview operates as canonical truth at this scope, not just lore. Substrate-perception unlocks at Adeptus Minor canonical threshold per T1\_Vril\_and\_Magic\_System\_Master Vril Sight tier 6 binding. Per-trade substrate-perception specification binds at Tier 5 Trade\_Detailed authoring.
Third Order tiers (Magister Templi and Magus, numerical 200 and above) unlock canonical-truth-layer operational depth per CVD §14.5. Substrate operates as the traditions describe. A Magister Templi of Trade 9 Inscription reads inscriptions as substrate-inscription; reality-shaping mechanics become available, including the Ch 69 Duat 42 Negative Confessions canonical recitation event per CVD §14.5. A Magus of any trade (Tier C MMO endgame only) operates within the trade's living lineage as the traditions describe.
Each trade master at each home base culture surfaces different worldview substrate per CVD §14.4. A player taking Trade 4 Herbalism instruction at Ch 07 South India learns the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita Ayurvedic frameworks. The same player at Ch 50 Amazon learns the Amazonian shamanic-medicinal frameworks. Same trade across home bases surfaces different worldview substrate. Per-culture worldview content authoring binds at Tier 5 Trade\_Detailed per cultural-substrate authority.
Worldview surfaces through DOING — the craft, its tools, its moveset — never as a mandatory monologue or lecture, and never gating progression. A player who wants only the craft mechanics gets a complete, fun trade with a full mastery climb and every quest gate reachable through skill alone. The worldview and substrate layer is opt-in depth per Pillar 12 Layer 2 and Layer 3, reached by the player who seeks it and never imposed on the player who does not. Trade master dialogue immerses in the tradition; it never lectures the player.
Three trade home bases intersect CVD §17.1 high-care chapter cultural depiction discipline. Trade 7 Culinary Arts at Ch 42 Haiti, Trade 9 Inscription at Ch 29 Sámi (one of two ancient homes), and Trade 9 Inscription bonus discipline at Ch 15 Egypt for Pharaonic depiction. Trade 1 Animal Communication discipline applies at Ch 11 Ituri Mbuti substrate per CVD §14.3 and at Ch 57 Australia Aboriginal Animal Communication tradition per Library 4 substrate, though Ch 57 carries no Trade 1 home base assignment.
CVD §6 cultural depiction standard binds non-negotiable. Respect cultures depicted, use publicly available documented information for accurate artistic depiction, protect communities from combat and kill mechanics, depict documented rituals respectfully from sourced material. The CVD §6 vocabulary is canonical and complete.
Ch 42 Haiti carries CVD §17.1 Vodou-living-religion respect discipline and Pipeline Contract §10.8 Ch 42 Haiti Vodou-living-religion respect binding. Trade 7 Culinary Arts trade master at Ch 42 Haiti operates within documented Haitian Vodou foodway tradition per CVD §14.3 Louisiana Creole foodway substrate concept reference and within documented Haitian historical context (1804 Haitian Revolution, 122-year French debt, Bois Caïman, Aché substrate per Thread 1). Trade master worldview-teaching surfaces canonical Vodou foodway content at depth and substrate tracks. Combat and kill mechanics against Vodou practitioners at Ch 42 Haiti are prohibited per CVD §6 cultural depiction standard. Sourced material discipline applies per the canonical book processing scope.
Ch 29 Sámi carries CVD §17.1 Sámi cultural depiction discipline and Pipeline Contract §10.8 Ch 29 Sámi joik-substrate boundary binding. Trade 9 Inscription trade master at Ch 29 Sámi operates within documented Sámi noaidi drum and runic tradition. Trade master worldview-teaching surfaces canonical Sámi inscription content at depth and substrate tracks. The joik-substrate boundary applies — joik composition and joik-imitating content prohibited at Trade 9 Sámi home base scope. Documented Sámi inscription practices author through sourced material discipline. Combat and kill mechanics against Sámi noaidi practitioners at Ch 29 Sámi are prohibited per CVD §6 cultural depiction standard. Ch 29 carries no antagonist family presence per CVD canonical chapter assignment.
Ch 15 Egypt carries Pharaonic hieroglyphic substrate discipline. Trade 9 Inscription trade master at Ch 15 Egypt operates within documented Pharaonic inscription tradition. Trade master worldview-teaching surfaces canonical Egyptian inscription content at depth and substrate tracks. Sourced material discipline applies per the canonical book processing scope. The Ch 15 Egypt tomb artifact ancient anchor binds at Trade 9 Adeptus Minor gate and at the canonical astral projection ability activation per CVD canonical chapter assignment.
